HMoA Drawing Class 02/19/13 - Kelly

Monday was figure drawing at the Honolulu Art Academy. I arrived late, so I missed the gesture drawings. I still am going back into pages from previous weeks.

I really like this page. I am moved by the neat rhythm created by the multiple figures. I have created a lot of movement on the page. Movement is bliss.

The colors are also interesting. The cool yellow ocher I was using as a flesh tone in the earlier sketches makes a great background tone for the main figure. I also like the muted tones; it's making the purer areas of color look much stronger.

This was the second 20 minute pose. I do like how this pose came out, though I wish I included more of the background setting to the pose. I will try and work on this again and see what happens.

This was the last pose of the night and for a change of pace I did the last sketch in pen instead of oil pastel.  Partly because I wanted more on the page then just a single figure.

I really like this drawing. It is taking up the right side of the page and it looks great. I really am eager to add more to this page.

This life drawing class is on Monday at 7PM. It is located at the The Honolulu Museum of Art School, formerly the Academy Art Center at Linekona. There is a $10 class fee.
